Queensland is located on Australia's beautiful northeast coast, home of the Great Barrier Reef, pristine beaches and major metropolitan centers Brisbane and the Gold Coast. It also has a flourishing startup scene thanks in part to a government that is keen to grow the startup ecosystem. The Queensland government are bullish about wooing promising new companies to Australia so they launched the HotDesQ startup attraction program in 2016.
Startups from across the globe (USA, Canada, UK, Israel, Germany, Chile, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium) have taken advantage of the program, receiving up to $100,000 AUD to locate a founder (or team member) in Queensland for up to a year to work on their Australia and Asia-Pacific strategy. 25 companies (out of 114 applicants) sent team members to Queensland in Round 1 in 2016-17, with another 28 companies (out of 186 applicants) just announced for the next cohort. In this ASW session you will be among the first to learn of plans for 2018 and work that into your business plan for next year!
